What to do with the speed pedelec when my contract is up?

You have two options:

1. Did you opt to take over your speed pedelec at the end of your lease contract?

o2o is the title holder of the number plate attached to your speed pedelec, as indicated on the registration certificate (unless it is a sales order, in which case the employer is the number plate title holder). Get this number plate de-registered at a Bpost branch and email us proof of de-registration once your lease has expired.

Please note: a simple erasure will not suffice, only proper de-registration will be accepted.

Want to re-register your speed pedelec in your own name and apply for a new plate? Then check out the federal government website for practical information on how to do this. This information can be found under ‘Hoe een tweedehandsvoertuig inschrijven’ (i.e. how to register a used vehicle).

As indicated, you must submit both parts of the registration certificate to Bpost. They will cancel the registration certificate presented and provide you with a registration form.

You can also complete the re-registration process at certain designated post offices.

If you have lost one or both parts of the registration certificate or COC conformity certificate, follow the steps in ‘What if I have lost my speed pedelec number plate or associated documents?’ before your lease contract expires.

2. Did you choose to return the speed pedelec to o2o at the end of your lease contract?

Then leave the plate on the bicycle and deliver the speed pedelec, along with the two original parts of the registration certificate and original COC conformity certificate (you will have received these at the bicycle dealer at the start of your lease contract), to your chosen Decathlon outlet.

How do I make an appointment at my Decathlon drop-off point? Reply directly to the emails from Decathlon sent in advance, sent to the email address provided as part of the end-of-contract flow process, to secure your appointment.

Please note:

The bicycle will only be accepted if all necessary documents are presented with it. You must also hand in all chargers and keys, as well as codes for Stromer models. To avoid any unpleasant surprises at the end of your lease contract, make sure to use your remaining service budget and get your bicycle checked over at Decathlon or your preferred bicycle dealer.
